Main Contractor

John Sisk and Son Ltd

This view is taken from a pole in the car park. It shows in the foreground the roof of a temporary Terrapin building.

Behind this is the flat-roofed toilet (rest rooms), due to be demolished in February 2000, and the pitched roof gable end of the

present auditorium - also due to be demolished. Behind these, the new building auditorium and offices can be seen.

The new building is on two main generally accessible levels, with additional technical levels below (a service tunnel) and above (lighting access) the auditorium. The building structure for auditorium and offices is substantially complete. Most of the internal plastering is also complete and door frames are being fitted. Plumbing and electrical installations are now well in hand. Opening of the auditorium is expected to be May 2000. Work will then shift to removing the present theatre and replacing it with the new foyer.
